Respect Week 2017
Peer Mediator Morning Announcements
Monday, October 2, 2017:
Good morning Mansfield staff and students! Welcome to the first day of Respect Week. My name is _______________ and I am a Mansfield peer mediator. Respect Week is observed the first week in October by each and every student in New Jersey. It is a special week where we focus on respecting each other and ourselves. The definition of respect is: showing admiration for a person or having a sense of her or his good qualities. In other words, you show respect to yourself and others by treating others the way that you would like to be treated.
My name is _________________ and I am also a Mansfield peer mediator. Each of us should have an open mind and show respect for differences in others. You should also respect the teachers who are working hard to give you an education, as well as your family members who are working hard to raise you. And if you want others to respect you, you must do the same for them. Ask yourself: Am I listening to what the other person says? Am I polite? Am I respectful to adults at home and at school? Remember: those who show respect receive respect. This week- and every week- be respectful to yourself and others.
